From a crisis of self-worth to a sisterhood of self-worth.
It all started with the darkest cry for help.
In 2012, our founder, Julie Larkin, witnessed the suicide attempt of her 18-year-old resident, Rachel.* Rachel, like dozens of girls around her, felt alone, unworthy, and unloved. Recognizing the great need for friendship, hope, and healing, Julie invited her “little sisters” to a cozy night of Girl Talk. Amid the glow of twinkling lights, she shared her own personal stories, opened the door to connection, and offered these girls the gift of hope. Since then, Girl Talk has grown deep and wide, serving hundreds of women in middle school, high school, college, and beyond with the message of their inherent worth. Today, we offer young women a soft place to land, a sisterhood of self-worth, and a space for healing and self-discovery.
Girl Talk dreams of a world in which every girl recognizes and radiates her true confidence as a daughter of God.
